John Jarvis Named CCO at Lacek

MINNEAPOLIS, MN

In a move designed to boost the creative product and continue its industry leadership in loyalty and relationship marketing, The Lacek Group, a specialty agency of Ogilvy and Mather, named John Jarvis to the position of Chief Creative Officer and Managing Partner.

John most recently owned and operated Giraffe Marketing, a small strategic and creative consultancy practice in Minneapolis, working with clients like Sun Country Airlines and Ely Tourism. His work for Ely, in particular the April Fool’s stunts that are now part of this small Minnesota town’s annual tourism push, has attracted national attention.

Prior to starting Giraffe, John was CEO and CCO of MDC-owned Colle+McVoy in Minneapolis, where he led the effort to shift the agency’s agribusiness and industrial account focus to a more well-balanced consumer and business-to-business portfolio. He also moved the agency from its longtime suburban location to the now-booming warehouse district of downtown Minneapolis.

John started in the advertising business as a copywriter and served as a creative leader in several agencies, including Martin|Williams, Fallon McElligott and Lynch Jarvis Jones, in addition to having a successful freelance career.

In addition to his creative duties, John will serve on Lacek’s Executive Committee. He begins his new role on January 4, 2010.
