As part of its ongoing community relations efforts, in 2014 The Lacek Group (TLG) and its employees raised more than $16,000 to help fight cancer.

2014 was the second consecutive year TLG helped raise money for the cancer cause, supporting a group of national and local organizations, including the American Cancer Society, Miracles of Mitch Foundation, Angel Foundation, Children’s Cancer Research Fund and Minnesota Ovarian Cancer Alliance.

“Over the past two years, we are proud to have raised more than $34,000 to help fight cancer, a cause that has either directly or indirectly affected our employees and their families,” said Chris Hoffman, Vice President, Human Resources and Corporate Communications, TLG. “Through events like our March Madness Bracket Challenge, an agency garage sale and Kids’ Jamboree, our employees and their families rallied around this cause to help make a difference.”

Every two years, TLG selects a new charity for its community relations efforts and has chosen Special Olympics Minnesota as its partner for 2015 and 2016. The Special Olympics is the world's largest sports organization for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, providing year-round training and competitions to more than 4.4 million athletes in 170 countries .

“We are excited to support the Special Olympics for the next two years and have our employees engage in furthering its wonderful mission, starting with the annual Polar Plunge at Lake Calhoun this month,” said Hoffman. “Giving back to organizations that benefit our community and quality of life has always been an important part of our agency culture.”

Since the agency’s founding in 1993, TLG and its employees have supported a wide range of groups, such as Habitat for Humanity; Big Brothers Big Sisters; the Ronald McDonald House Charities, Upper Midwest; Second Harvest Heartland; Sharing and Caring Hands; Feeding America; Faith’s Lodge; and the American Cancer Society.
